The clock/calendar portion of this device consists of a long string of counters that is toggled by a lHz input. The lHz input is generated by a prescaler driven by an on-board oscillator that utilizes one of four possible external crystals or that can be driven by an external clock source. The lHz trig- ger to the counters can also be supplied by a 50Hz or 60Hz input source that is connected to the LINE input pin.

tDF(3)(4) CE or OE to Output Float 0 25 ns
tOH Output Hold from OE, E or Address, whichever occurred first 0 ns

Sleep Mode When the input supply is disconnected, the lC enters the sleep mode. In this mode, the battery drain current (IBSL) is a negligible leakage current, allowing the batte ry to re- main connected to the charger for an extended period of time without discharging the battery. The leakage current is due to the reverse-biased B-E junction of the external PNP transistor.
