RR1220P-114-D on stock Minimizing IDD when the l/0 is used to control LEDs When the l/Os are used to control LEDs, they are normally connected to VDD through a resistor as shown in Figure 9. Since the LED acts as a diode, when the LED is off the l/0 VIN iS about l.2 V less than VDD. The supply current , IDD, increases as VIN becomes lower than VDD and is specified as C:IDD in the DC characteristics table. The MAX5182/MAX5185 are designed to provide a high level of signal integrity for the least amount of power dis- sipation. Both DACs operate from a +2.7V to +3.3V sin- gle supply. Additionally, these DACs have three modes of operation: normal, low-power standby, and complete shutdown. A full shutdown provides the lowest possible power dissipation with a maximum shutdown current of 1UA. Fast wake-up time (0.5Us) from standby mode to full DAC operation allows for power conservation by activating the DACs only when required. |
