GENERAL DESCRIPTION T he T M P01 is a temperature sensor which generates a voltage output proportional to absolute temperature and a control signal from one oftwo outputs when the device is either above or below a specific temperature range. Both the high/low tempera- ture trip points and hysteresis (overshoot) band are determined by user-selected external resistors. For high volume production, these resistors are available on-board.

The open loop gain ofthe whole system can be divided into the gain of the error amplifier, PWM modulator, buck converter output stage, and feedback resistor divider. In order to cross over at the desired frequency cut-off (FCO), the gain ofthe error amplifier has to compensate for the attenuation caused by the rest ofthe loop at this frequency. The goal ofloop compensation is to manipulate loop frequency response such that its cross-over gain at Odb, results in a slope of -20db/dec.
