AD7142ACPZ-500RL7 Datasheet Right to make changes - Philips Semiconductors reserves the right to make changes in the products - including circuits, standard cells, and/or software - described or contained herein in order to improve design and/or performance. When the product is in full production (status 'Production'), relevant changes will be communicated via a Customer Product/Process Change Notification (CPCN). Philips Semiconductors assumes no responsibility or liability for the use of any of these products, conveys no licence or title under any patent, copyright, or mask work right to these products, and makes no representations or warranties that these products are free from patent, copyright, or mask work right infringement, unless otherwise specified. AD7142ACPZ-500RL7 Price Shutdown and Load Disconnect In addition to the nominal charge pump and regulator func- tions, the LM2686 features shutdown and load disconnect circuitry. CE (chip enable) and SD (shutdown positive) per- form the same task with opposite input polarities. When CE is low or SD is high, all circuit blocks are disabled and Vos falls to ground potential. This is the same result as when the die temperature exceeds 150'C, and the device's internal thermal shutdown is triggered. The LM2686 incorporates a low impedance switch tied to the v05 0utput, because some special applications require load disconnect and this is achievable via the switch. Switch PSW connects V05 to VPSW. In normal operation, this switch is closed, allowing 5V loads to be tied to either Vos or VPSW. Forcing CE low or SD high opens the PSW. As a practical matter, this means that the power supply bus must be capacitively bypassed at the driver with atleast 100X the load capacitance in order to achieve optimum driving speed. It also implies that the bypassing capacitor must have very low internalinductance and resistance at all frequencies ofinterest. Generally, this means using two capacitors, one a high-performance low ESR film, the other a low internal resistance ceramic, as together the valleys in their two impedance curves allow adequate performance over a broad enough band to get the job done. PLEASE NOTE that many film capacitors can be suiciently inductive as to be useless for this service. Likewise, many multilayer ceramic capacitors have unacceptably high internal resistance. Use capacitors intended for high pulse current service (in-house we use WIMATM film capacitors and AVX Ramguard'M ceramics; severalother manufacturers ofequivalent devices also exist). The high pulse current demands of capacitive drivers also mean that the bypass capacitors must be mounted very close to the driver in order to prevent the effects of lead inductance or PCB land inductance from nullifying what you are trying to accomplish. Foroptimum results the sum ofthe lengths of the leads and the lands from the capacitor body to the driver body should total 2.5cm or less. transmitted, CS must then be taken HIGH. If the user continues the write operation without taking CS HIGH after issuing the WREN instruction the write operation will be ignored. |
